Prostate Cancer: Hormone Therapy

Studies have shown that hormone therapy can effectively balance the growth of Prostate tumors by inhibiting the action of male hormone like reducing their levels in the body. Hormone Therapy on its own doesn’t cure Prostate cancer but it can take the lower risk of an early Prostate Cancer coming back when you have it with other treatments. This is Metastatic Prostate Cancer.

Hormone Therapy is also a possible treatment for Prostate Cancer that has spread to other parts of the body. Hormone Therapy can help Shrink the Prostate and any Cancer that has spread, and this makes treatment so much effective. Its may continue to have Hormone therapy during and after your Radiotherapy for up to three years. Hormone Therapy can keep your cancer over all to control for many Years, but over, time your cancer may start to grow.

You may continue having your original Hormone Therapy, but there are also other treatment available. Stage-4, is the last stage of Prostate cancer and describe a tumor that has spread to other parts of the body, including the lymph nodes, lungs, liver, bones, or bladder. For these cancers the 5- years survival rate is 29%.
