Chinese Coast Guard Blasts Philippine Boats with water Cannons

The South China Sea is a marginal Sea of the western pacific Ocean. It is bounded in the north by South China, in the west by the Indochinese Peninsula, In the east by the Islands of Taiwan and Northwestern Philippines and in South by Indonesia Islands of Borneo, the Bangka Belitung Island area of around 1,400,000 sq mi and eastern Sumatra. The South China Sea Islands, collectively comprising many of archipelago clusters of many small uninhabited Islands, Islets, Reefs and Seamounts numbering or counting in the hundreds, are competing claims of sovereignty by several countries.

The People’s Republic of China (PRC) and the Republic of China (ROC) claim almost the entire body as their own, demarcating their claims within what is known as the ( ”nine- dash line”) which claims overlap with virtually every other country in the region. This is the marks of the second collision between Philippines and Chinese Ships in the vicinity of Second Thomas Shoal Since October.

The Philippines Said, that China had harassed and blocked dangerous manoeuvre. A Philippines beat and that Chinese Ship have collided near a contested reef, in the latest territorial dispute between the two countries in the South China Sea. They also accused China of causing serve damage to the engine of one boat after using water cannon.

The Clash follows another incident on the day of Saturday when the Philippines condemned China’s actions as (”illegal and aggressive”) after the Chinese coast guard reportedly used water cannon against civilian  government vessel belongings to the Philippines fisheries bureau. The Campaign is a civilian- led advocacy initiative aimed at asserting The Philippines rights in the South China Sea amid longstanding territorial disputes.
